Position: Sales executive -Material Science characterization and Analytical based instruments
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and technically competent Sales Executive with experience in Materials Science, Optics, Photonics, and Scientific Instrument sales. The candidate will be responsible for promoting and selling sensors, Material science instruments, optics and optomechanical equipment, laboratory equipment, and related products to research institutes, universities, material testing laboratories, pharmaceutical companies and industrial laboratories.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and sell Materials Science instruments, characterization systems, optical and photonic instruments, analytical equipment, laboratory instruments, and consumables within the assigned territory.
- Identify new business opportunities and develop a strong customer base.
- Meet assigned sales targets and achieve territory growth objectives.
- Conduct customer visits, product presentations, demonstrations, and technical discussions.
- Generate enquiries, prepare quotations, negotiate commercial terms, and close sales.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers and key decision-makers.
- Follow up on leads, quotations, purchase orders, deliveries, and payments.
- Handle government and institutional tenders, GEM portal activities, bid preparation, documentation, and tender submissions.
- Coordinate with application scientists and service engineers to ensure successful product installations and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in exhibitions, conferences, workshops, and scientific seminars.
- Monitor competitor activities and provide market intelligence.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, CRM records, and activity reports.
- Handle post-sales activities effectively and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction, retention, and long-term business growth.
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports and submit them to the Regional Manager.
- Travel extensively within the assigned territory.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry, Physics, Engineering or a related discipline.
- 1-3 years of experience in scientific instrument or laboratory equipment sales.
- Understanding of Materials Science, Optics, Characterization Techniques, Machine learning and Analytical Laboratory Workflows.
- Proven experience selling capital equipment, scientific instruments, or other complex technical solutions.
- Experience in institutional sales and tender handling is preferred.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer relationship management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness to travel extensively.
- Male candidates are preferred.
