Vapor Cell

Description:

A vapor cell is a tiny, sealed chamber, made of glass or quartz, that holds a small amount of atomic vapor such as rubidium, cesium, or other alkali metals. These cells provide a controlled environment where the atoms can interact with light or magnetic fields, making them essential components in precision measurement devices.

Principle:

Vapor cells are sealed enclosures containing alkali atoms such as Rubidium, Cesium, or Potassium, often combined with buffer gases. When illuminated by laser light, these atoms undergo quantum transitions that can be probed optically or magnetically. The controlled environment ensures stable atomic density and reproducible measurements, making vapor cells essential for spectroscopy, magnetometry, and quantum sensing.

Types of Vapor Cells

1.Glass Vapor Cells

2.Microfabricated Vapor Cells
